Should I report my V.A. disability income to those whom I am required to pay my student loans? I have been told by a friend that since it is a non-taxable income that I am not required to report it as part of my total income. I am 70% service connected for PTSD/Depression. I also receive SSDI and (a small) federal disability retirement for having a CVA (stroke) that has left me unable to work. My stroke has been tied to the PTSD, and my VSO has told me that he has been informed that I have been approved for I.U. In the interim, I need to make payments on my student loans, but must do so on an income based repayment plan, hence the question about whether I should include V.A. disability as "income". SSDI and Federal disability are both taxable and are considered income. I hope this makes sense. The stroke sometimes impedes my ability to express my thoughts clearly. Any help would be appreciated.I hope I can find the replies when posted. Sometimes I forget to check and then cannot find the answers
