Longhorn,

I get my needles, alcohol pads, and testoterone from the VA to my mailbox. Tried the gel but hated it, so I just have the wife inject me every two weeks.

The VA also has time released pads in 1 mg. and 4 mg. that I am familiar with, the injections will cause high PSA readings . Good luck with that. It's mainly for energy not for sexual reasons .

I heard that the injections are the safe way to go. does the treatment really works, i had my prostate exam on Friday, tomorrow I'm taking the first lab work done and i have to wait a week for the second test. are the test both blood drawing and what are the side effects of the therapy?

I liked the idea of the injections because once its in then I dont have to worry about the wife or kids coming in contact with it. Its quick and virtually painless. Yes you have to have blood drawn until they get you on the right dosage and thus far I havent had any bad side effects from the shots. The only time was when I was getting too much when they first started and lets just say the wife was very happy for those few weeks. LOL

My testosterone got down to 93 about 4 years ago. I took injections every 2 weeks. ( had to stop what I was doing, clean up, drive 35 miles, get the shot, come home and re-start what ever I was doing. That got old in about a year) Then my son started dating "Nurse Goodbody" and she shot me up every two weeks. After 2.5 years my testosterone jumped all the way up to 260's. Used Andro gel 1.62 for a year and half. No change. Tried the underarm stuff for two months and changed back to a neew get that atarts with an F I think. The under arm stuff was like rolling on a table spoon full of Elmer's Glue. My under arm hair looked like dread locs and felt like it too. So I shaved. No problem with the hair but couldn't apply deoderant for at least an hour or it was like K-Y under my arm.
I get a rash if I wear a bandaide over a day so the patches are out for me.

Latest testosterone reading was 293, two months ago.

Good luck with it and I hope your results are better than mine.

Guys, I had high PSA and my urologist is giving me lupron shots every 3 mos and my psa is now 0.01
dont know if it will work for you but it's worth a try

I believe my urologist tells me the testosterone medicine is synthetically manufactured which mean its not natural to the body as manufactured by the body . This in itself is a serious threat to the body as opposed to the natural testosterone. I am personally of the age that I can't take the chance of having serious prostrate problems . Therefore the patch is the best way for me to personally go.

I am getting ready to start therapy with the patches. Is anyone getting any noticable benefit from this? Energy, strength, sexual ???

If the Veterans of our country followed up their promises as the Politicians have, we would all be speaking English as a 2nd language!

There were Federal Clinical Trials for Testosterone cream on old men. They stopped it because over 50% of the old men died. Their tickers failed. Be careful with that stuff.
