Speaking as a former DRO I have seen such claims.  While Hodgkins Disease does not cause coronary artery disease, some of the treatments for Hodgkins Disease can increase the risk for coronary artery disease.  These treatments include radiation and certain types of chemotherapy.  Generally this risk is greater for those under the age of 25 at the time of treatment since it normally takes 20-30 years for the heart disease to manifest if it is related to the cancer treatment.

If you have undergone radiation or chemotherapy for Hodgkins Disease and you now have coronary artery disease, you need to discuss any possible relationship between the two with your doctor.  You need to do this anyway because if you file the claim without an opinion from a doctor supporting it, the claim will just be denied.  If your doctor thinks that there is at least a 50/50 chance that your cancer treatment caused the coronary artery disease ask him/her to put this in writing and send it to VA with a claim.  Like I said, you are going to have to do this anyway so that is the best place to start.

This isn't making sense.  I don't think that it took 7 years to decide that 2004 claim.  Something happened in between.  Also, service connection isn't denied because the condition is in remission.  What exactly was it that was denied?  Are you service connected for Hodgkins Disease?

I filed for IHD in september of 2011.Is there a chance they will pick up on this for the nod file and put them together.

No, because these are totally separate issues.  One is an original claim that has yet to be decided while the other is a Notice of Disagreement.  They aren't even handled by the same people.  What exactly is the issue on this Notice of Disagreement?

OK, that's different.  Your claim wasn't denied because you were in remission.  You were granted service connection but with a 0 percent evaluation. 

IN  September of 2011 i filed for IHD and just took part of my exam this week.  

I'm curious, why the interest in ischemic heart disease being secondary to Hodgkins Disease.  If exposure to Agent Orange has been conceded then service connection will be granted on the basis of exposure to Agent Orange.  Any relationship to Hodgkins Disease is a moot point as far a service connection is concerned.
