Posts: 173 Aug 17 12 8:48 AM	I recently had my hearing with a judge, and my file is finally at the bva. I found out that my docket number is 08-13xxxx. If I'm reading that right, it means my docket number originated in 2008. Does that mean they have to work my case before any later docket numbers? What docket numbers are they currently on? Posts: 2259 Aug 17 12 9:45 AM	I'm not certain where they are as far what docket numbers are currently being worked, but a 'docket number' is your place in line. They are worked in order. It's like 'take a number and wait' and that is your number... i.e. #3688, now serving #4.

So theoretically, since they work appeals in docket number order, does that mean my appeal will be ruled on earlier than later (given the age of my docket number)? Thanks, Doug USAF 80%

Posts: 1358 Aug 18 12 5:12 AM	Doug They may not always work appeals on a first come-first served basis. I am sure that some appeals take priority over others as well.
