Knowing that a Deferred Item could require a new C&P, or a physician opinion or further review of evidence " once you received your award letter and in it were notified than a contention is Deferred how long did it take to get the deferred item decided and to receive your second award letter?" HooAhh

Posts: 255 Aug 7 12 10:48 PM	I am out of the Columbia, SC VARO. My original claim was filed 08-2011, C&P's in November Farmed to Roanoake and decided 12-20111 with several items deferred. New C&P's in March 2012 and no decision, new C&P's ordered 7/25/2012. One deferment was for an error in a C&P that conflicted in his own notes. The timeline is only a reflection of my situation and may vary. Keep in mind that in may, I filed for 4 additional contentions which I opine; slowed my claim. Had I not added those contentions, I feel it would have been decided with the C&P's from March 2012 Thanks for your service.

"...You said the claim closed on July 26th and the deferred item went back for a medical opinion which is finished and now in review of evidence." So let me get this right; You got an award letter on July 26 for all your other contentions and one item was deferred. The deferred was sent back someplace for a medical opinion (Who was it sent back to)? It is now finished (How do you know its finished)? Its now in review of evidence which I suppose you can see on e-benefits. (Has anyone told you how long before the Rater will pick it up again and rate the deferred item and send you an award letter for the deferred item)? So, thats what I would like to know as e-benefits does not give you any information about its status except for the category its sitting in. HooAhh
