I separated from the Air Force on a maternity discharge in June 2004. Since I was a high risk pregnancy I decided to continue my treatment at Bethesda Naval Medical Center and have my son there. I was induced on July 19 due to my health conditions and eventually had to have a c-section. To make a long story short the c-section caused severe scarring that resulted in 5 surgeries and eventually a full hysterectomy. The VA has denied my claim several times stating that since I had my son after my separation date I was not covered. They have sent me to a QTC appointment for the bladder issues but they linked it to a bladder infection i had while active duty not the scarring from the csection. I'm just confused!! I don't understand how they can't be liable for a surgery that was performed in a military installation and has caused me so suffering. Does anybody have any advise? I recently wrote them back telling them to look at my records for the pregnancy since they can clearly show that I was having complications prior to discharge. I also asked them to look at other gynecological records that could be linked.
