Posts: 30 Jul 27 12 3:22 PM	Help does anyone know of a loan that i can get I am currently working under the table for cash and my family of four is having a really hard time staying afloat on 800 a month. Is there anyone out there that can help me? I have tried the Unemployment center in my state and lost on appel when i worked for a big box company. Is there a VA program that can loan me some money or can help me with credits or something I am desprate and this whole mess it taking more then a financal toll on us.

BUT, if your family is existing on this minimal level of income, go to your country welfare office immediately, and apply for AFDC and Food Stamps. You would more than qualify for these benefits, as well as Medicaid. You earned the right to those benefits, and to help your family there is absolutely NO shame involved. Get down there on Monday Morning, and get the application filed. They do have emergency funds, and can provide immediate help if necessary. Posts: 2505 Jul 30 12 10:22 PM	When I was hurting my worst, I fed my family from a church. Try several and get recommendations. To pay it back, we volunteered at Christmas to work at the church. The LIHEAP program paid over $600 of my utility bills. It's a fed program run by the county. Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. Get exceedingly cheap dental care from the county. The YMCA gave us free membership "scholarships" so the kids could swim and play in their gym during the summer. School lunch can be free, too. My landlord took work in exchange for rent discounts, so I fixed up the house. Here's a "thinking out of the box" possibility: If you're enrolled in school, the VA education benefits might pay you more than your cost of school. Edited 1 time by VABA Jul 30 12 10:28 PM.

Posts: 740 Jul 30 12 11:25 PM	why are you working "under the table"? this causes some many problems in your future years. just apply for ADCF in your state. the kids will be eligble for medicaid and there will be food stamps and cash for the family. so what is your next step for employment to support the family?
