I'm service connected for hypertension. I filed a claim for hypertensive heart disease. Va sent me to c@p exams. A stress test which my mets where 11. But the test was stopped because of arrythimas. Had an echo done. And was told my left ventricle was dialated and ejection fraction was 50-55%. Went through my private insurance and they did an nuclear stress test. The results where mild ischemia. Va denied my claim for hypertensive heart disease the reasons where. No diagnosis and no treatment while in service. This was a secondary claim to my hypertension. But va didn't process it as a secondary claim as the denial letter never mentions secondary. On feb 10.2012 I filed a NOD. And mentioned why I disagreed and pointed out this was a secondary claim. When I received letter from va acknowledging the nod. There was a vacc letter in the same packet. It said they will consider sevice connection as a secondary condition and asked if I had anymore evidence. I signed the letter and said I didn't. I'm confused because the c&p examiner said the subsequent condition hypertensive heart disease is atleast as likely as not related to service.he also gave his rationale. But he said he was waiting on the stress test results to confirm the diagnosis. But I was denied anyway. The nuclear stress test said my ejection fraction was 50%. Went to vso. He said there shouldn't be a nod and claim for the same condition. But maybe va is taking another look because there is a diagnosis in the c&p report. I have since had another diagnosis of hypertensive heart disease by my va dr. Its noted in the progress notes.so I i So with all the confusion I called the 800
