You don't mean use a real firearm do you... Yeah this shit is pretty awful sounds like AKs and Mortars, and IEDs are going off non-stop and all the normal people have know idea what it sounds like... I've been hiding in my basement and only going outside to smoke. I hate the 4th of July and New Years around here. People set off fireworks all night long in my neighborhood. I used to love setting off fireworks myself and now I hide in my man cave and hope for sunlight. Doc

Posts: 242 Jul 5 12 9:37 AM	neihbors were setting off right in the street, must've had some good ones. they sounded just like incoming incoming. it brings me right back to baghdad and sitting in my tent trying to get some rest. but i do love fireworks, or well, i used to apparently. if i'm the one lighting them i feel fine, its the ones i dont expect. which is pretty much all of em!

Posts: 933 Jul 6 12 10:35 PM	I was able to ignore the fireworks pretty well this year, until, I was driving about 65mph west on I-405 and merging with I-5 north on a long right merging curve with the windows cracked alittle and then bam - some excuse for life fired a sparkly mortar into the side of my car... LUCKILY - I didn't crash and the sparks didn't catch my interior on fire - but even my service dog was wanting revenge. I have been maxing out meds since the 3rd now, all progress in calm, gone. I don't see why people are allowed to have that kind of firepower without a license or training just because of the 4th of July. I understand the little firecrackers and bottle rockets but these mortars are far beyond what normal people should have... A bunch of fracking wannbe's that couldn't get the courage to signup and put their life on the line trying to be "cool"... Grr. The dog did get some revenge later on the evening when some teenager who thought it was a good idea to toss a poprock at him, the sheriff who witnessed it said the pup was remarkably restrained considering and just barked at him in a way that could only be interpreted as a scolding. I left before I found out what the paperwork the sheriff gave the kid but I know he was no longer being a wiseass. Posts: 3506 Jul 7 12 12:22 PM	I have a neighbor who shoots off some pretty heavy duty fireworks without warning. I live in a secluded setting with woods on three sides of my home. One night I was laying down reading a book when the fireworks started. I though it was gun shots, jumped out of bed, grabbed my pistol and ran out the rear door of the basement with the 9mm. I ran up the side of the hill, crawled through the thick forrest before I realized it was fireworks. I was really stressed and panicked. I wonder if any of these yayhoos understand how their mindless celebration with fireworks effects us? I don't think they really care. A Co. 2nd/2nd 1st Infantry 11/66-11/67
