Posts: 6 Jul 3 12 6:18 PM	Does anyone know the requirements to receive allowance pay after graduation from a 4 yr program? Also, how do I go about trying to get approved for graduate school? Please help

Posts: 131 Jul 4 12 7:54 PM	Your Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (VRC) or case manager at your RO will be able to help you with EAA and the graduate schooling information. I am not sure if you will be able to use VR&E for graduate school unless you can provide evidence that you are unable to obtain suitable employment with your current level of education, and it must be documented evidence, but again you should be talking to your assigned VRC about this. Employment Adjustment Allowance-Two months of subsistence allowance payable in monthly increments after the veteran has become suitably employed or demonstrates a good faith effort to find employment within the field for which training was provided. You must have documented evidence that you can show your VRC, otherwise it is probable they may deny this benefit. AFLadyretired

Posts: 484 Jul 5 12 4:07 PM	EAA is only paid after your plan is completed and you are looking for employment, or you were lucky enough to walk into a job. If you are thinking of trying to use Chapter 31 for grad school (and remember it must be required for ENTRY LEVEL employment in that field; i.e. a VRC or SW generally requires a Masters), then the EAA would be moot at this point. It would be paid after grad school for two months while seeking employment at that time. It is a generally a one-time thing.
