Ok, I recently got out of the Army in FEB2012 and started seeing the VA healthcare providers for medication/counseling and such. On my intial meeting with the PTSD team I was seen and talked with an Intern or something, not a real doctor. She asked me a bunch of stuff about stressors or whatever. I told her I didn't just have one stressor which seemed to annoy her for some reason. So she made me narrow it down to 1 primary incedent and 1 secondary incedent. This really pissed me off. I had to dig up into the past 4 years about a lot of shit I dealt with during deployments. I thought everything went fine and good or as well as it could. I called back a few months later to see about medications and a different lady told me that the PTSD clinic had discharged me, and sent me to the normal mental health clinic. I asked why and she stated "you don't meet the criteria for PTSD." I was really confused after this since I had been diagnosed by 2 Army phyciatrist, as well as a VA phyciatrist during my quick start C&P exam in LA. So now she said that they said I have Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety, and Insomnia. So now I have to go see these people in the normal mental health clinic.
A few questions, I have a C&P claim for PTSD which the VA person in LA said I have, How will this effect that claim in the future? Will it just go through and after a few years and another C&P will they unrate PTSD or lower the rating. This whole ordeal is giving me a headache and making me nauseous. I was never told that I had those conditions so I went with PTSD when I filed my claim. I have seen on here you can only rate 1 mental health condition, so if the are saying I now have MDD, Anxiety, and Insomnia how will this factor in to the future. I'm just really confused by the VA system, granted I understand that they have there own opnion but how can it be different than 3 others. Well anyone had an instance like this happen? Any info would help out. Thanks.
Also I haven't gotten a rating from my claim because it is still in Preperation for Decision.
