Posts: 242 Jul 1 12 11:11 AM	had this panic attack that lasted more than a week, i was swinging from fine to the end of the world and back again. i couldnt figure out why?? until i thought about a new drug i was trying. abilify, is used to treat anxiety and all it did was make it worse. i mean way worse, i was thinking of admitting myself it was so bad. in the grand scheme of things, i think i will just stick with my ambien for sleep and ativan on occasion only. have any of you fellow vets had the same expirience? i feel much much better today after some decent sleep.

Posts: 50 Jul 1 12 12:04 PM	Dont give up on medication. Sometimes it takes a while to find the right one for an individual..I had terrible anxiety until I was put on Celexa.....now I rarely have it. Work with your doc until you find the one that is right for you.

Posts: 242 Jul 2 12 12:25 AM	its funny i just talked with my MH doc and said i thought it was going well. like i said i'll stick with the ambien and ativan for flair ups and sleep. just waiting on my refills.. i feel remarkably well on day two of no abilify, didnt think that was to blame. i just thought i was going thru a really tough stint there for a week or so! onward and upward everyone.

Posts: 317 Jul 3 12 8:42 AM	Everyone is different but I could not take Abilify. That stuff made my anxiety 10 times worse. I went off after like the second day. I was really hoping it would help with my depression, but couldnt handle the anxiety.

Posts: 273 Jul 7 12 10:20 AM	Kungfoo, Hang in there. My BHP changed meds three times until we got it right. Everyone is different in terms of how they react to a medicine. The important thing is that you share how the meds work or do not work. For me the answer is Celexa. Recently, my panic attacks increased. I communicated that to the doc and he doubled my Celexa and gave me something else for a sudden panic attack. All is good as it gets now. Keep taking the meds and stay in contact with your provider.
