I am new to this board. My husband was diagnosed April 2004 w/prostate cancer. He was receiving a 30% disability from Aug 2005 until his death May, 2012. He had been healthy. How does a man who was so active die from bladder cancer so quickly?
He was diagnosed with a very aggressive high grade bladder cancer in mid-December. I filed an appeal, claiming the bladder cancer is connected to AO. I have not been denied yet, but I know I will be. Bladder cancer is not on the "presumptive" list yet. I know the VA has to issue a review every 2 years of any new diseases they are adding to the "presumptive" list. Does anyone have any idea if there will be any added?
I plan on retaining a military disability attorney when I receive my first denial. Has anyone had any success in claiming disability from the VA for bladder cancer?
There is so much scientific info about this connection. Actually, it is Agent Blue that bladder cancer is connected to.
My husband was in the US Army - November Platoon - Alpha Company - 2nd Battalion - 16th Regiment - 1st infantry - August 1968 - 1969 - I know he won a Silver Star in Lai Khe and was stationed in Firebase Lorraine - a bombed out crater. I have an e-mail from someone he served with that during the monsoon season they filled their canteens with that water.
