When I was down and out myself, the Catholic church gave me food whenever I asked by the bag full. So no need to go hungry. I send my prayers and feel relieved that you got the help you needed. Posts: 12 Jul 21 12 8:05 AM	Hey brother, I am happy to hear you are ok. I had been down this road before and am really glad you found this site with all the people on it. I came here recenlty myself but when I was down at rock bottum a few years back, I had not a single soul to turn to and the VA was the only ones their for me. I started counsleing and attended PTSD group, started to talk wih old team leaders and members from my squad/plt and I was nearly ready to leave this life, times I felt like the devil had me down so fare that all I wanted to do was end it all. Getting help with the VA and talking with other vets in the PSTD groups/programs had a major impact on my life. Although I still have major issues with PTSD and the nightmares,hearing gunfire from time to time and reliving the events in my dreams, I have the gretest feeling now that I want to live my life, that I want to try and better myself everyday and fight back against these negative thinking/feeling. I would ask that you try and wake up early in the morning before the sun comes up and site outside, this helps my mind greatly to relax and comforts me. I dont hear a single car/horns/polics/fire truck sirens and such until around 6 am or so and this has helped my mind to set back and relax before the day begins. Try to find somehwere peaceful where you can relax you mind and body, this has helped my grealty though my times. Anyway brother, please remember these vets are here to help, here to be here for all of us when we need it. Remember and always tell yourself that life IS WORTH living, that you still have many things to complete, things to do and people love you and care for you even though you may feel like their is no body their. STAY STRONG!!!

I also get up early every morning to walk my pups for several reasons, it is peaceful, and it is not too hot. It sets the tone for the rest of the day. Again, thank you for sharing, Donna

Each day - try to see and acknowledge just one good thing, even if it only boils down to . . . Hey - no body pissed in my cereal today - lol. See something good - somewhere - in something. It will get better - here and there - it is just slow going sometimes.
