I read an interesting item in this forum regarding The Navy making a decision that even thought the VA made a disability award, the Navy could not award CRSC because the VA award was based on the disability being "Service Connected" but the NAVY refused CRSC based on the disability not being "Combat Related". If someone, namely me, was on a Navy vessel in close coastal waters regularly during the Vietnam war and actually proved he went ashore to the satisfaction of the VA as evidenced by a disability rating, and I was awarded the Navy Expeditionary Medal (Vietnam) which was awarded BEFORE the Vietnam Service Medal was authorized, could the Navy say my disability was not "Combat Related"?
I have an active CRSC claim pending. I have not been refused. Has anyone experienced a similar situation???
