Was referred ot AO site with my questions. Am new to forum and VA system. I have several questions, so please be patient. Served in VN. Entered VA system 8/8/11,approved for benefits on 9/28/11; filed for compensation 11/8/11 (IHD, tinnitus, hearing loss, diabetes II, hypertension, bilateral neuropathy) Completed C&P 4/27/12. Claim is in decision approval status. Have hx of triple bypass surgery, aortic aneurysm, BKA left leg. Have also filed for SAH grant due to medical conditions. Went to VAMC see vascular, since BKA is not healing after 7 months and to discuss revision on BKA for prosthesis. Needed stress test, turned out positive. Waiting on cardiologist. Obtained copy of C&P reports prior to stress test and METS was 1-3. Have not had Echo yet, suppose to have it 6/9/12. Last Echo by private cardio in 2007 showed LVEF 25%. VSO is VA. My question is do I need to revise my claim in lieu of new developments or wait until I get a decision and appeal? I did not file for IU, do I need to do that? Ebenefits has added "View Required Evidence", what is that? I clicked and nothing tells me what I need to do, it just shows everything they have asked for and received. Do I need to do anything else? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

With information that you have wrote about your METs at 1 to 3 and your ejection fraction at 25% you should be rated at 100%. If you submitted medical evidence with your claim, you should not have to submit any more evidence.

First off welcome to the forum. This is the best place to get your questions answered.My question to you is when did you file for the first time? Next from whaty you say with your LVEF you should definately be a 100%.Triple bypass will get you 3 months at 100% only if you have filed for it priorAs IHD Dont know too much about BKA, we dont get too many of them here.When you are into a premium account on E-bennies you can text message to IRIS and ask your questions, and usually get the right answers back in a few days.Any echo or stress tests that are a year oldare useless for rating. They want current info to make sure that you didnt get 100% better. Thats a joke, as heart disease only gets worst.There is the 800-827-1000 number to get info . I called last nite and waited an hour only to have the guy read the generic responses. I told him dont bother.Most of us here dont even get the stuff they send to Regional read in 7 months. Wish you luck with all claims.Never give up...

Thanks for the info. I first filed for disability on 11/8/11. I visited VAMC on 5/31/12 for stress test for clearance on revision surgery for BKA done 10/26/11. Stress test was positive. Will text IRIS. Again appreciate the information.

I agree, you should be 100% and most likely P&T. If the other issues get you up to 60% then you would qualify for SMC-S another 300+ a month. If you have ED, it is often caused by heart meds, you can make a claim for that as SMC-K, 100 a month. In your condition you probably have emergency nitro or a long acting nitro like Isosorbide in which case Viagra is contradicted so SMC-K should be automatic

An update on my status. Went to see Cardio last week...had a H/A and didn't even know it. Old damage I was told, so he cleared me for my BKA revision scheduled for the 18th. Also had ECHO on 6/9/12. Stopped by benefits at VAMC and was told claim was complete as of 6/5/12. Waiting on notification from VA, when it arrives will post my ratings. Again thanks for advise.
