That should be good and if you were in the army you can only get one anyways, well at least one combat ribbon or badge, you could get a silver star, PH, Bronze star with a V which are all combat awards in a sense. But Im guessing most services do not give multiple combat badges out I could be wrong.

I was army. You can get a CAB in Aghanistan or IRaq as long as it wasnt the same deployment. I alraeady had one for IRaq so i never pursued paperwork for afghan CAB because it was a huge hassle but i fear that was a mistake now .

Not true per AR-600-22 you are only allowed one CAB per period.  They are considering the Stan and Iraq one period.  I know early on in the CAB development people were able to squeak two CABs.  The same goes for a CIB.  Now you migh be able to get a CIB if you were a 11B and assinged to an infantry unit then assinged to anothe non infantry unit you could pick up a CAB.  But no you can not get two Cab's.

Saw too many guys with a cab from one deployment get a cab from another deployment as well so i know they are awarding. But The main theme of my response now i guess is some from any war who really deserve them may miss out so its good the new rules are in place that you only need one OR can verify with buddy statements ect.

Well you might have seen is them put in for Cabs.  We had multiple guys put in for Cabs that already had one for the Stan when we were in Iraq.  They all they came back denied as OEF and OIF are both considered the same theatre in the War on Terror.  I suggest you ask those guys to see their ERB's or 214's to show proof of the second award.  When it comes to awards you just never know, even if people have it on their dress uniforms.  And I do remember there were a few guys early on Iraq that got a second one and by the time we got home they were wiped off.  So you could see people who got them twice but I bet they have been stripped and if they havent been stripped DoD or Da will only recognize one anyways and will be a matter of time until their records are corrected.  Read below  only one combat award is authorized for GWOT which Iraq and Afghanistan are considered GWOT.

1. THE PURPOSE OF THIS MESSAGE IS TO PROVIDE THE REVISED CRITERIA, APPLICABILITY, AND STANDARDS FOR AWARDING THE COMBAT INFANTRYMAN BADGE, COMBAT MEDICAL BADGE, AND COMBAT ACTION BADGE.
2. A PANEL OF SENIOR OFFICERS AND NONCOMMISSIONED OFFICERS MET TO DISCUSS PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE CRITERIA FOR AWARDING COMBAT BADGES FOR PERFORMANCE IN THE COMBAT THEATER. THE PANEL'S RECOMMENDATIONS WERE APPROVED BY THE ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF THE ARMY (MANPOWER & RESERVE AFFAIRS) ON 24 JUNE 2008.

Yeah no problem.  Awards are one of those things where everybody has the wrong idea on them.  They either think they have something when they dont, have something they shouldnt, or they think they saw something that somebody did or has.  But when it comes down to it you have to look at the reg.  Like I said people very well may have gotten through the system, but eventually the awards will be stripped along the line.  Even if you managed to get two and it was on your 214 and they never took it off, the Va or whoever will never recognize it anyways.

I was in an MOS that was Combat Arms Support yet was right there attached to an infantry unit (Big Red One) and Third Armored Division and experienced many direct and indirect occurrences yet because it was in 1991 and not 2001 I would be required to prove ground combat but the guy/gal with a CAB does not???? WTF?

Yeah that is kind of screwy.  I was non combat arms as well but lucked out as I was after 2001.  If the infantry get an award then there should have been something for everybody else.  Thing with the Army is that the infantry rules the world, they put infantry generals in charge of everything even things they shouldnt.  When in reality POG's as they call it out number grunts three to 1.  And try driving that truck without fuel or shooting those MG's without bullets, thats right they couldnt do it. 

To be honest with you I think the main reason the CAB is now there because in the current war the support MOS's are doing more than they ever have.  There were instances like you where you were right there with them but historically the support people were behind a nice line or in the rear with the gear, and occasionally one might see something.  But in todays world cooks are being used as gunners etc.  Our Support company probably did more missions than any single grunt unit did.  I was the PL for 9 months and did around 210 missions, thats a mission just about every day.  If I would have been the PL for the rest of the tour I probably would have had 350-400 missions.
