I have seen the term "White Hispanic" a lot. It's on lots of forms and systems in various police/sheriff's departments. So, they (the media and police) are correct, George Zimmerman is both White and Hispanic, hence White Hispanic. So what's the problem? The same folks complaining about Zimmerman's race description aren't complaining that the media described Trayvon Martin as Black - so that's ok but describing George Zimmerman accurately isn't ok?

I have also seen government forms that say check all that are applicable: White (non-Hispanic), White (Hispanic), Black (non-Hispanic) Black (Hispanic), etc. Point is, we're a very rich, diverse, multi-cultural society. It's not as simple any more as being either Black or White. I for one have never met a Hispanic with the last name of Zimmerman so my sense tells me he has a multi-racial background which has been described accurately.

The media - I think people forget, the media isn't just there for the hell of it. Fox, MSNBC, CNN, etc. have sponsors and they all compete for the higher stake of viewership. Why? Viewership brings $$. So why did they pounce on this? It's obvious! People will watch and businesses will bid for commercial air time. Certain news stories sell. Frankly, this one has had it's 15 minutes and is not nearly as forefront as it was 3 weeks ago.

On a lighter note, I filled out a form for something in Alabama about 15 yrs ago. Under race, it gave only two options, black or white. To this day I find that very amusing. I wonder have they updated their forms yet.

I've seen (white non-Hispanic)...which seems odd in itself. All the affirmative action classes I've been through (which are alot!), military and civilian, claim that being other than white is the only classification needed to be a minority. If your white then your not a minority, even if your a first generation immigrant. I say this because there is no other reason to even classify your nationality...who really cares where your from unless your looking for preferential treatment for being a person of color.

Anyone that thinks the radicals are just on one side is greatly mistaken.

But you may be right about one thing, the ugly stuff may very well happen.

By the way, all the family of Martin wanted was equal justice.

So if a judge throws the case out before it goes to trial then equal justice wasn't served?

I have a gun and if anyone wants to fight with me they better have one too. Especially if I'm walking in MY neighborhood! 

Maybe the parents should have taught their child simple survival skills if he's going to be walking the streets late at night to get a bag of skittles! Like telling your child to go to the nearest house for help if they feel they are in danger. Or call 911... or call 911 and go to the nearest house for help. Those would be the actions of a so called child. That's what I've trained my kids to do when they feel they are in danger AND they wouldn't have been in danger  because I wouldn't let them walk the streets late at night! Especially for a bag of candy!

Instead he took the actions of a man and was treated like one. That's what's sad...this so called child was taught to do something that took his life.
