You can't ''wait to hear why the witness did not stop the fight.' C'mon Survivor, would you have done that, you say maybe he was scared, that's probably a good possibility, or maybe he was an old disabled veteran like we are. I can't say exactly what I would do unless it actually happened to me but my initial reaction is that I doubt I would try to break up a fight between two complete strangers, esp if I'm seeing one getting the shit kicked out of him. I think I would retreat, find something to defend myself with, and call 911.

The curious thing tho, is that it appeared the police talked to this witness and a report must have been on file yet the presecutor still proceeded to file charges. This is sounding more and more like "heavy political handedness'' going on.

What that tells you is what you're hearing from Fox News is probably not what the complete statement the witness gave the police or Fox is just reporting what they want to report in order to keep the flames fanned. MSNBC does the same and is just as guilty for fanning the flames. They just do it from the opposite view of Fox. CNN is the most credible and balanced source I have found concerning this case. We won't know the real truth until the trial, unless the documents get unsealed.

Perhaps the report does not reflect what is alleged.

Since everything is sealed, we will not know what any witness claimed until the trail.

And, as a side not, eyewitness testimony is far from accurate or conclusive. there have been many men sent to prison and even executed based on eyewitness testimony that later was proved to be untrue or inaccurate. Eyewitness testimony is far from reliable evidence.

We are getting what the Martin family asked for from the start, a reasonable attempt at justice. All they wanted was to let a jury decide what happened, not a few policemen and a county prosecutor. That's called justice.

Actually, you two guys are biased towards Martin and if Martin is found to truly be the aggressor as alleged, then Zimmerman will be exonerated. That's also called justice!

Perhaps people are forgetting that point as well.

I beg to differ with ya bro! I'm totally fine with Zimmerman being exonerated if that is what happens. I wasn't fine with the way this was originally handled. It is on the correct course now. Sure i suspect Zimmerman is lying but my suspicions have nothing to do with the final outcome or whether I will be happy or sad about it. Let the judge and jury determine that.

CNN already had to retract their original coverage claiming that during Zimmermans 911 call he said "f*cking coon". After the 911 tape was anylized it was found he said "f*cking cold", helping to feed the race baiting that has been the theme of a lot of news outlets.

My opinion regarding the outcome of this case is much like yours. If the facts sways a jury to believe that Zimmerman did or did not kill Martin within the confines of the law than my day will still continue as normal.

However, my opinion is leaning more to the constructs of the law....meaning I believe that a man is inocent until proven guilty. I also belive that a man has the right to defend himself, with a gun if nessesary, when he believes his life or bodily harm is at stake. So Zimmerman pulled the trigger...and the DA collected facts and believed that the weight of evidence fell on Zimmermans side and chose to not charge him with the crime.

Also, although we all have to wait for justice to operate, a narrative is being spilled from a willing media frenzy. And a narrative is all that is needed to create new law or to change current law. This is my concern and this could change the way I live my life. .

So....we all have a horse in this race.

It is the media's fault the family of the slain youth only asked for justice.

Wow,,, that's a pretty harsh indictment.

Well, we'll have to disagree then because what I see is a media spectacle that will cost an innocent man everything he has and then some, all because he defended himself from an attack. So what happens next, is this precedent setting in your eyes, now will we expect every single "self-defense" sceanrio like this one to wind up in the lenghty, drawn out court system, costing untold thousands of dollars to the defendant and to the taxpayer.

And the "race baiting" element of the whole thing is disgusting. Could it be that the media, the sharptons/jacksons, and BPP's of the world need another big racial issue so bad that they distort the whole thing as to being a "white on black" crime when Zimmerman clearly is Hispanic.

You feel like Zimmerman is lying and I feel like all of y'all are taking up for Martin to the extent that he, Martin, is being made out to be such an ideal kid and so innocent looking in his photo, er, that is, his 12 year old photo. Anybody seen a current photo of him anywhere?

No stan, I did not say those things, you just did, and with a strectch, I might add. What I said is the media (and others) have made a complete spectacle of this thing thru distortions and outright lies. Just look at the retractions by various media agencies and the NBC executive that was fired for erroroneous distortions.

You say you're not biased but, by your actions, statements, and postings, you clearly are. As for me, I will admit that I am biased and believe Zimmerman is innocent. But, you know why I'm biased, it's because all my life I have despised "bullies" and that's exactly what the media has been on this, a damn biased bully when what it should have been is a objective, impartial reporting of the news. Clearly, the media has not been impartial and/or objective.

The only fault of the media is forwarding a narrative of racism within the Judaical system, the public and Zimmerman himself. And no that isn't a harsh indictment, it's the truth.

You keep saying justice must be done without considering that there is a Judaical process. The DA will press charges if and when they have the evidence to prove a crime has been committed. If the evidence proves otherwise they don't. The law is legally obligated to operate this way, that's why it's called "justice".

Because I believe in the judicial process I'm sure if Zimmerman is innocent he will be let free. But the nation will be damaged if a narrative is repeated that racism exists where it does not. It only hurts the cause to make us more color blind, it only gives ammo to the anti-gun activist and extremist that exist on both sides.

As a consideration ("Fast and Furious" This will be my next read.), I heard a interview with the author of this book. It connects the dots that show that the current administration was activly invovled in passing guns to mexico in order to pass a narrative that gun sellers in america are arming the drug cartel. Which in turn will give them public support for new legislation to pass tougher gun laws.

CNN never claimed that Zimmerman definitely used a racial slur, nor did they retract, there was nothing for them to retract. I watched it myself. I saw the panel debating what MAY have been said. Some think they heard one word while others heard something else or couldn't make it out at all. But the network never said with any certainty that Zimmerman used any racial epithets.

I also believe innocent until proven guilty. All arrested in this country are considered innocent until proven guilty. That includes Zimmerman.

The lead investigator collected all the facts and evidence and determined this to be a homicide and felt Zimmerman should be charged. However the State Attorney overruled this based on a 10 minute "briefing" in the middle of the night. He must have been in a hurry to get back home and didn't think clearly about what he was doing. The State Attorney later withdrew from the case (obviously he knew he bungled this up) and the Gov. appointed a special prosecutor to take another look. She came to the same conclusion as the original lead investigator. Still innocent until proven guilty but..it warranted an arrest.

I still don't see that Zimmerman was defending himself and I do think he lied. Why do I think he lied? I dunno other than it seems people do that when facing 25 to life.

Zimmerman may not be guilty and that's fine if a judge or jury determines it. But come on, you have to admit, what an ego to appoint himself "Captain of the Subdivision." Imagine me appointing myself Colonel...no let's make that GENERAL of the Cul-de-Sac" where I live and harrassing people who don't live on my street but may use it to visit my neighbors. Do I have the right to harrass them because I'm the General? What if I take it too far and they fight back? Can I shoot them and claim self-defense? Sorry, that is not self defense nor is it Stand your Ground.

NBC doctored the 911 recording causing the producer to get canned and CNN misinturped the 911 recording. Both forwarding a narrative.

BTW AX7337...I really do get your perspective. I even posted info that supports your claim that Zimmerman is a HOA zealot. Your post is on point and more than likely right. Even though your right the facts and the law does not support Trayvon's actions.

This is a gated community and the people who live there have been robbed...A LOT. Zimmerman assisted in stopping one burglary and assisted in the conviction in a second in this gated community. With this said, he acted reasonable when attempting to ascertain the motives of a minor after dark. I'm not saying it was right or something I would do....but it was reasonable. People don't want to be robbed.

Again regardless of this case, the media is spinning a web of deceit and trying to push a narrative..even the president commented..the president! This guy has missiles launching in N. Korea, Iran making nukes and he has time to comment on this!

It's a narrative my friend and you can be for Trayvon and against the narrative, unless the narrative is contradicting reality.

I just get a funny feeling that Zimmeran will never got to trail. It will either get tossed out (sometimes prosecuting offices fall ,on the sword for compelling reasons), it will be a hung jury, mistrial, etc., or.....if it does make trial, he'll be exonerated real quickly. I just get that feeling based on the accounts thus far.

Being paranoid - only describes those who have put the entire world under surveillance.
