Posts: 169 Apr 5 12 6:14 PM	Tags : None I became 100% on 01/2010 and received my retro on 04/2010----I am in the process of buying a new home that is being built (3brm 2-bth) in Orlando, Fl. Even though I suffer from multitutes of S/C conditions, so far life became brighter after being 100% with SSI benefits, this is a good income that I have and can live with it O.K. (used to make more working)-----Sometimes I feel like GLADIATOR (Russell Crowe) the MOVIE, when I walk, meaning I am proud that I served Rome (USA). This Forum was very helpful. How are other 100% veterans feel after being 100% for awhile?

If I wasn't feeling real sick, I guess I'd feel better about it...... but then probably wouldn't need it. So a little mixed.

With 100% SC P&T, I feel like Maximus saying the above, but with my poor health, I also feel like the poor bastard with his hand on the sword trying like hell to remove it... so it is a two-edged sword my brother. Remember to check with your state to see what benefits you are entitled to. Here in Texas, my 3 daughters attend UT with full-ride scholarships with each receiving Chapter 35 checks of nearly $1,000. Posts: 47 Jun 6 12 5:17 PM	I have been rated at 100 % for over 10 years now. I feel trapped by it and my disability. I hate being at the prime of my life and spending most of my time in bed in pain. I feel like I am missing out on a lot in life due to my disability. Yes, I don't have to work but I wonder if the trade offs in what is lost from life is worth it. My ex wife gets a huge percentage of the money I get as child support so I am left with very little to live on. So basically I guess I feel that it sucks. I am grateful for the money I get, the free medical treatment, but being disabled sucks. On a side note, I am very grateful for the VA care I recieve. Most of it has been very good.

I know there's not much left over and I'm right there with you but at least I'm able to provide for them. I've got claims pending but I feel fortunate that even though I can't be the father I'd want to be due to my health and my chronic pain levels. I hang around because of my children and the hope that one day I might find some relief. Hang in there buddy. Congratulations on the 100% rmrafaelm.
