A DBQ is a questionaire provided by your doctor (private or VA) to establish your current level of disability in lieu of a C&P. It can be used for a new claim or an increase in disability. We have found that in the original 3 DBQ's that some vets were still called for C&P's because certain results were old. Do you think the raters will base their decision on these DBQ's? Could I submit one of these for a pending claim. If the VA would use the information on these forms it could cut out a lot of C&P exams. How am I today? Too early to tell and too late to make a difference........and who cares anyway.

Posts: 286 Mar 20 12 5:18 PM	I remember the IHD DBQ but was unaware of all the others. I did start out my claim on Fast Track though and had current echo and stress every year for the last 15 yrs. Thought those 3 things were what got me the 30% so fast (5 mos).

I wonder how many VA Psychologists or Psychiatrists will complete one of these exams for the Veterans? I wonder how many Veterans will pay a private Psychologist or Psychiatrist to complete these exams? A great tool and I hope it works out well and helps to speed up the claims process. Posts: 135 Mar 21 12 11:12 AM	In Oct 2010 I filed a claim for IHD and was approved in Feb 2011 at 30%. I then filed for an increase to 60% and IU. I was approved for both in Sep 2011. No C&P exams. The primary medical evidence was 2 DBQ's that were base on recent stress tests. Only other evidence was a few pages of medical records I sent in. I would encourage anyone that can get the DBQ filled out by their doctor to do so. They really worked great for me and could be a big help in getting claims done quicker and cheaper. Any money saved by eliminating C&P's could be used to treat veterans and we all know that money is alway a concern at the VAMC's. Posts: 3382 Mar 21 12 8:18 PM	As always still confused. My surgeon and cardio doc put me at 3-5 mets.stress test at 6 mets.Guess the machine rules over a doc who has been taking care of you f or 17 years.If thery used my DBQ I would have been a 60% not a 30%.

Posts: 860 Mar 22 12 11:50 AM	Just wondering, of all who have used this system, have you had good luck having doctors take the ime to fill out these multiple pages? I printed out the one for kidneys and found it to be 5 pages. Glanced through a few others and found some containing even more pages. I really like the concept and hope that doctors, especially V.A., embrace it but when you look at their overloaded workload they already have I could see some of them bucking it. But I must applaud the V.A. for developing it. Thank you all for your service.

As it was stated in my decision with Parkinsons, I should have never been sent to a C and P since my Neurologist had already diagnosed me and the medical file from my doctor was sufficient to make a decision. I don't know if it will help make the decision making process any shorter, but since all the new DBQs have been generated I am sure the VA will be flooded with these forms. Posts: 545 Mar 24 12 6:31 PM	Remember: The C&P Examiners are using these DBQ's, I have had two C&P's for March, one for my IHD "Future Exam" and Prostate Cancer and the examiners are going right down the form. So you can now print out the form that is for the C&P that you are going for and you will know what questions you will be asked. So good luck to all for thir C&P's. I have had a few episodes with arrythmias but nothing has been found or diagnosed, trying for service connection via GWI since there is no diagnosis. I have been diagnosed with SA but does it matter if it is central or obstructive? Do these forms need to state that the PCP believes they are SC? and or do they need to state GWI or allude to?
