I initially filed a claim for 7 conditions but now when I go to ebenefits there are 11 additional items that have been added. Will I automatically be granted those additional findings due to the fact that the person reviewing my claim records added them. Does it also mean that the supporting evidence is already in their possession? Thanks for the assistance

Good question I would like to know the same thing. It would seem if they didn't already have the evidence, they would not add items, and if they do add items it would mean you would be getting a rating for the conditions added. Just my opinion though, hopefully someone with experience will chime in.

How am I today? Too early to tell and too late to make a difference........and who cares anyway.

Did you file with a VSO? I submitted my claims with the DAV and after it was sent to the the actual rep handling my case the number of claims for SC conditions increased in ebenefits.

In my particular case I filed a claim for Tinnitus and after a C&P audio exam, the VA added Hearing Loss to my claim. They awarded me 10% for the Tinnitus and deferred on the Hearing Loss added item. It was apparent that the audio C&P had indicated hearing loss also.

So given supporting evidence, they will add item(s) to a claim.

Where do you go to see the claims you filed ? I have a prem acct , cant find anything that shows claims filed .

Pending claims/compensation section...it took about 3 weeks after I filed and ebenefits showed pending status

Yes, the VA does do this and in most cases they will defer those claims they added and request a C&P. It's to your benefit my friend so make sure if you attend the C&P if the RO requested one for you.

I did submit through a VSO. Were you granted the additional items?

yes ,,, they do add to your claim, I filed for depression July 2009 then the VA Doctors changed my
condition to ptsd. In the meantime I was granted ssd for depression and I submitted them
as evidence for my depression claim. In a few weeks I got a letter and forms asking for
evidence for ptsd and IU. I didn't file for PTSD or IU, but they showed up on ebennies.
What bothers me is it's been 31 months in Dec. 2011 and that is when they added the other two claims
so will it take another 2-3 years since they added these? I didn't have any other evidence to give
them other than the doctors changing my diagnoses from depression to PTSD and filling out the
IU form but they ask for doctors records, a discription of what caused the PTSD and a nexus statment
I've been in gathering of evidence for 31 months now and havn't even had a C and P exam.

They are in the process of scheduling C&P exams for the items that were added. I had C&P's for the original items on Jan 21 2012. My letter states that the local office has been contacted to schedule my exams.
