On March 8th 2011 I filed a claim for Bilateral Hearing loss/Tinnitus. Early July it was done but had errors in the compensation rate but was corrected by early September from 0% to 30%. When I got that letter, it stated that my dependent form wife/kids did not contain my wife’s SS number. So I filled out the new form (completely) as instructed and sent it back to the VA. Mid November , I sent and IRS inquiry regarding the status of my dependents. A few days later I got an email from the VA RO that they had lost my new dependent form and were mailing me another one. After a week or so, I did not receive a form so I went online to Ebenefits and submitted the information via VONAPP. About a week later, I got the form and had my VSO fax it over to the VA & American Legion. It is now listed as received / under review.
Since I am approaching one year since my original hearin loss claim date, should I be concerned about dependent back pay? Or will I get the back pay for more than a year if I go over that period of time before the VA gets back to my file and sets up the dependent compensation?
