I meant to post this yesterday.

I found this gentleman inspiring. I didn't get the chance to meet him and talk to him, since he was leaving when we first saw him. On his cut, he was a Vietnam Vet, United States Marine Corps, with two combat tours. He was in a wheel chair, both of his legs were gone. His buddies helped him a little, but he did most of the work. You'll see his wheel chair strapped to back of his Harley.

This was truly aspiring! smiley: happy

Thought some of you would enjoy these pictures. I did not want to bother the owners, so am not sure of the age, but they both have "historical" license plates which, in South Dakota, means they have to be over 35 years old.

Nice rides, anyway;

The guys riding these were no youngsters either,,,

Those are Indian scoots and look like the real deal vintage iron! You'll see a few of these and some original old Panheads around at a lot of rallies.

One guy I know is 74 years old, in very good health fr his age, and makes damned near all of the NASCAR races, all of the big rallies (Sturgis, Daytona, Angel Fire/Red River, Ruidoso, etc.) and logs more than 28,000 miles a year on a '48 Panhead....gotta hand it to him...rain, snow, nothing maters! He has been on scoots since age 14 and has no plans for decreasing his rides in the near future!

I don't think that the rear/passenger seat on the red one actually came with the bike, but I betcha there's someone who appreciates it.

A pair of 1950s Indian Chiefs is what we have here in my opinion. I could be wrong though.

Caged it down to Daytona Biketoberfest pictures ---> ( www.bankscrossingscrc.com ) But I think I am going to have to reduce, if not eliminate, the rides I take. The crowds had me taking massive doses of my medication and I have began to drink again after not drinking for many years now. The only real enjoyment I experienced was sitting on our L shaped balcony and watching the ocean. The rest of the time I was a total wreck and thank God I caged it with my wife and daughter or I would have probably had an accident drunk or something.

I knew I wasn't ready for the crowds, noise, and general anxiety. I guess I am just going to have to ride 'Lone Wolf' style..... Or with one or two that I can come to trust and enjoy their company without having to double and triple dose and drink too. I really wanted to ride to Sturgis next year too. Shrug

One of the reasons I had to sadly let go of my sweet 2008 Ultra Classic 103"....sometimes, it just gets a bit too unsafe. Frown

Thanks for the invite but I think I will stay clear of that country. I lived there back in 1970-1972 or so....Northern California... Things were so much different back then. They have went completely mad at an alarming rate in that state. More so than all other states with regulations on top of regulations. I know it is happening everywhere but California has always lead the way in the 'nuthouse' category IMO. My bike would not even be legal there.

On another note I am sure that there are some spectacular rides one can have out there. Year round at that.

I love them too, I think that first bike started life as an Indian Chief, notice also they have modified the shifter which gives it a Harley look but I'm still thinking Indian.

Sturgis Kentucky Rally

I took these at Lil Sturgis back in 04 or 05 I think, I make this rally every year. This was a barn find, the guy that had it said he bought it in South Carolina or Georgia, I can't remember which on his was to Kentucky. My memory sucks but I think he said it was a 1926 or 1927 and I'm reasonably sure it's a "B" Model Harley Davidson.

If you ever get in the Clarksville, Tn. area make sure you stop by the post museum on Fort Campbell, they have one of the sweetest WLAs that you will ever see. Sounds like we have the same luck.
