Posts: 67 Jan 20 12 8:54 AM	in order to receive both DOD and VA, do you have to have 20yrs of active service or 20 years service total? I signed off on my FPEB paperwork in Dec. 2011 I have not gotten anything back yet. I am guard with 8 years active and 19 years total I am still on title 10 orders and i will reach 20 May 19 of this years. I am rated 80% total by the PEB 50% ptsd placed on temp retirement. Just wanted to know what happens if i reach 20 years before I am discharged. I still have over 45 days of leave that i am going to take. Thanks Scoobyroc

Posts: 2141 Jan 20 12 9:55 AM	CRSC does not require 20 years of service. CRDP does require 20 years for disability retirees. Length of service retirees do not require 20 years. If you have twenty years and are eligible for a reserve length of service retirement at age 60, then you should be able to get CRDP at that time, assuming a VA rating of 50% or more. Mike
