Applied for VA Comp for PTSD,Depression, Aniexty with Agro on Aug 14, 2011. Then on Sep 3rd or so online I applied for SSDI online, and listed only all my disablities that are service connected for other then the Mental health aspect not rated yet. I was approved and recieved my award from SSDI on OCT 7th of 2011. I get my first payment the around the 4th Wednesday of Dec 2011. My question is I called the VA last week finally got through and was able to wait on hold and found out my Calim was recieved from the Amercian Legion on Aug 19th, 2011. And is in the 1st phase or inital stage I believed she said. I dont have full access to EBenefits yet so I cant see anything there of use yet. My SSDI was awarded fully based on PTSD and I never had any appoinments with SSDI never talked to anyone they looked at the Mental Health notes from the VA medical center my inital appoinment did most of everything. Ive only have had one session since then. Do I need to let the VA know I am now on SSDI based soly on the VA's findings. I called the VA last week cause I havent even recieved nothing in the mail saying that they got a claim from me and are looking into it or something. I thought I normally have gotten those in the past. Then you can submit extra evidence of some sort, i thought this would be the time to do so. I just would think that them knowing now that I was awarded SSDI for PTSD related issue, not sure if SSDI calls it PTSD, but that should hold great weight right? Does anyone have any advice, or should I just kick back and relax and let the time pass its only been 4 months, but I thought I would have recieved something by now. At least a piece of paper letting me know they recieved something. Thats why I called to calm myself down. Thanks for any responses.
