Posts: 51 Sep 26 11 6:59 PM	Tags : None I do not know if some of know that once you get an any s/c award you are entitled to back travel pay but you have to do this within thirty days of the award. he VA does not advertise that.

Posts: 677 Sep 26 11 10:06 PM	Atlanta has sent me forms to submit for a trip in 2009 and another in 2010. They say they will pay when they get forms back, which I have sent. This was from a letter I sent them. I also sent one to the Augusta, GA VA and Dublin, GA VA. Have not heard from them. I have to go to Augusta this Wednesday and Dublin this Thursday so I plan to see what the hold ups are. MCL

Posts: 4378 Sep 26 11 11:16 PM	You can go the Department of Veterans Affairs website, search travel pay, and see that they follow the Federal Register and yes, they only have to pay travel pay if you claim it within 30 days. C&P exams are paid at 100%, so are VR&E mandatory appointments. VA medical care visits are paid based on several different factors including distance Veteran lives from the VAMC, or where the nearest VAMC is, whether or not the Veteran was a waiver not to pay the deductible $$ round trip, but it is still required to file within 30 days. If they are paying you for any travel claims that were filed after the 30 days, I would say send them a thank you card.

Posts: 294 Sep 26 11 11:18 PM	they took care of mine at the pay window. va will not go beyond 30 days. she looked at all my travel dates and entered the info. i later received the direct deposit.

Posts: 3692 Sep 27 11 5:10 AM	sarg15, Are you saying that you got travel pay directly deposited to your bank account? I use 4 different VA facilities. Two in Florida pay by check and two in Connecticut pay cash. I never heard of one using direct deposit. I guess it is possible, but I never heard of it. Just curious. Dave sends USAFSS 1957-1979
