The below is the email from CRSC explaining my disapproval of Tinnitus. This is why I believe you have a good shot at CRSC approval.
Jack,

If you were aircrew, aircraft maintenance, etc., we could link you to the aircraft noise in as much as you'd have been directly on the flight line routinely performing your job in/on/around the aircraft generating the noise. The aircraft, in this case, are instrumentalities of war and are the cause of the hearing loss/tinnitus.

For those not in the specified career fields-such as power production, communications, refrigeration, and many others, we have to approach hearing loss/tinnitus differently. The industrial noise exposure within those career fields is primarily from non-instrumentalities of war such as generators, communications equipment (teletype, radio, etc), cooling equipment, etc. Under normal circumstances, this is handled as VA service connected, not combat related.

When someone in jobs such as these points to impaired hearing/tinnitus under CRSC, we have to have specific documentation of acoustic noise trauma from a combat/combat-related cause. Working near the flight line, frequent general firearms qualification, etc., generally don't qualify. If there's documentation of some specific acoustic trauma that we can qualify with we will.
