Posts: 95 Apr 30 08 8:00 PM	Latest update from the Army CRSC site: As of April 30, 2008, CRSC is awaiting final program implementation guidance from DoD. Once that is received, we will begin to process all Chapter 61 and TERA CRSC claims. As my husband would say: This is going to be a long hump!

Posts: 4 Nov 3 08 5:19 AM	got my decision letter last week got 80% have call dfas three time with no luck on amount, so here we go went in army july 20 1967 was wounded in viet nam was sent to walter reed and med retired at 80% mar 3 1970. dfas sends the va 1349 a month and then i get a check for 2650.00 a month which is 100% because i cant work. alway go to the troops if you want a right answer can anyone tell me what my crsc would be.thanks mark , to all vets welcome home

Posts: 3 Dec 30 08 2:40 PM	I am just beginning to start the CSRC appliaction process...can someone verify that DD FORM 2860 TEST (V3), APR 2004 is the most current version? If not can you link/send me to a site that has the current version as a .pdf, . I'm a 20 year USAF vet, currently rated at 40%, just had lower back surgery to replace and fuse 3 vert (currently have 10% for mechanical back pain prior to surgery). I have a pending claim to increase CNP fpr my back....any suggestions on where to start the CSRC papertrail? Thanks in advance.

Posts: 1 Jan 17 11 12:32 AM	Question, I have my award letter from CRSC, it states that I have a Total Combat related-disability of 100 percent. Now does that mean that I will get my full med retirement check that I was getting prior to my VA wavier kicked in?

Posts: 16 Mar 29 11 1:28 PM	I started receiving CRSC a couple of years ago. I too was in Vietnam and wounded and offered a medical retirement. I think CRSC is based on you high three average pay. In your case e-4; they will look at how long you held each rank and average the pay you received while in the service. MIlitary retirement is calculated the same way, but a person has to have 20 years to be eligible. A master sergent, who held that grade for the last three years before retirement would get 40% ( that is 2% per year times 20 years). In you case, since you retired with less than 3 years you would get between 5 adn 6% of what your average salary was.

Your 2860 form filled out, your VA rating letter (to include the break down), PH order, retirement order, Evacuation summary (if you were WIA), sign the form, turn in the appropriate pages (2860 only requires you to send 3 pages (the top page that has the address to which department you don't have to send them in) I got the email saying that they've got my forms 11/20/12

CRSC "replaces" all or part of military retirement pay and it is non-taxable.
