If i get the nexus letter and if i am granted SA secondary to PTSD, then i probably wont get CFS if i even get the diagnosis. As you are now diagnosed with SA, the VA will not rate you with CFS. The nexus for SA and PTSD may need to came from your doctor or a sleep doctor. I am just not sure. If you have had the fatigue since the war, than you go after the SA on a direct SC bases. If you have PTSD SC you can try and work the SA as a secondary to the PTSD. I do not know if it will work but some more studies have came out. Posts: 214 Nov 7 11 4:44 PM	Got a call from Peggy today she asked if I wanted to claim Depression and Anxiety due to chronic pain? As previously mentioned during C&P Doctor diagnosed me with Depression and Anxiety due to chronic pain and mild PTSD. I did not claim either. I wanted to wait for my previous claims to be rated without delay. She stated the delay for Persian Gulf Vets if additional claims would be if they needed to review your C-file. She stated mine was already reviewed and the delay would only be 30 days since C&P was already completed. I am going to trust what she said is true and told her yes I wanted to file additional claim. She stated that I submitted evidence of Meds for Depression and Anxiety and it was noted on C&P. Just wondering if I screwed things up and If I have to start all over again.

After all these years, the only thing left on my claim, is Chronic Fatigue. Now they finally decided to give the gulf war guidelines exam, instead of just the Chronic Fatigue exam. Go figure, if they would have ordered this one 3 years ago, it would have saved me and the VA a lot of time, and correspondence. Fight for every little bit of your life back. Don't let them win.

DBQ Gulf War General Medical Examination, on page 46. so now it looks like I have to gather up all the stuff for my conditions that are already service connected, so they do not get downgraded by this exam. I was discharged from active duty with a 20% disability rating. I went to a VA facility for care, but found the Dr.(retired private practice) seemed to be in worse health than me. I gave up after a few months of no answers and seemingly no care. I sought private practice care until it became too costly. Due to continued health problems, I lost my job and private insurance. I finally had to go back to VA because (let's face it, we're not getting better), I needed medications for a list of symptoms including but not limited to, Muscle Spasms, Chronic Headaches, Chronic Urticaria, Bone & Joint Pain, Severe Depression(with past suicide attempt), Sleep Apnea, NOS Sleep Disorder. After a MRI, several brain lesions were found and after the second MRI years later the lesions continue to worsen with new brain lesions starting. ```Can anyone say "YES, IT'S IN MY HEAD! AND I'VE GOT THE SCARS TO PROVE IT!!!" Well to make my story short, it took me eleven (11) years to finally be heard. But, my point is...DON'T GIVE UP!!! We know our health problems are real. After several different diagnoses, some WRONG... Again we should be used to that with the Military system. I finally am rated and paid at 100% unemployable. My life hasn't changed for the better, but at least I am compensated now. I'm not losing another job from missed work. Anyway,, in response to the Depression & Anxiety can & probably will fall into VA's bucket called Dysthymic Disorder which means it's depression brought on by circumstances other than chemical imbalance. So yes, I am depressed because I constantly have to battle the "Persian Gulf War Syndrome". But I'm finally heard and cared for.

Posts: 214 Jan 2 12 6:16 PM	What year were you discharged with your 20% disability? I was also discharged with 20%. I was told there was a certain period where they gave everyone 0-20% across the board. I have field for a review of my medical discharge. I received mine in 2003. I am presently rated 60% and I am presently waiting on presumptives and a couple of increases. Just waiting to see what happens.

I WILL GO THE ENTIRE COURT ROUTE IF IM DENIED CFS I HAVE cfs bad THE VA HAS STATED IN MY C AND P DOCUMENTS THAT I HAVE CFS EVEN THE C AND P DOC SAID I HAVE CFS he stated i take NAPS DAILY. AND YET I HAVE NOt BEEN compensated for it i will go to court and fight it becase it will help other veterans in the long run i just have to wait until my case is adjudicated its in the review of evidence phase rt now (according to e-benefits)

If your evidence is there then you will be granted what you deserve. I have CFS as well but what I didn't know is if I have MDD (Major Depressive Disorder) with melancholic episode then they won't grant it most likely due to CDC rules , if they're following that but I know of a few folk on here who has CFS, PTSD & MDD and still go their CFS granted, just depends on what RO is looking at your claim. I say be patient, be ready to file a NOD with a DRO Review if it don't come back the way you want it. The reason I say you got a long way to go is because I was told by a Veteran Service Rep at the VAMC in DAllas that we have the most backed up claims in HISTORY and most claims are being farmed out to other VA's with less work. Like mine is now in Lincoln Nebraska for rating and today on ebenefits it went to Pending Approval just as my man at VBA said it would. Expecting to hear something real soon cause the next phase is notification. This is the 17th month of all of this waiting. I wish you luck my friend. Posts: 25 Jan 22 12 2:09 PM	When vets are filing gulf war claims, are the rates usually lumping together as many as they can? I am currently 50%-PTSD, 20%-DJD lumbar. I did a sleep study through the VA and am using a CPAP, but all seems to be doing is stopping the snoring-on ambien too. I am filling for fatigue, headaches(I believe Dx’d by doc as migraines), joint/muscle pain, sleep disturbances, and gastrointestinal signs/symptoms (originally I had IBS in claim but was told at registry exam to change to a more general term like functional gastrointestinal disorders, all as a presumptive conditions due to my service in the Gulf War under section 3.317. Currently I have them as separate claims and am writing statements (21-4138) separate as well. Will/can they say that some are caused by the PTSD then deny and could they also lump some of the others under fibro or something for a lower rating? My C&P is Tuesday.

Posts: 1635 Feb 11 12 2:59 PM	I got my award today, 60% for CFS back to the original filing date in 2008. even with having sleep apnea since nov of 2008. This makes me 100% from the original date in 08. Now I just need to get the P&T, since they have 4 of my issues as being checked again in the future. Fight for every little bit of your life back. Don't let them win.
