I also filed my claims with the Pittsburgh RO.

Filed in March 2010. C&P exam in April 2011. Took one year to get the appointment, but this has been the normal time-frame. That could be because I live overseas. My claim includes IU, secondary claim to S/C left knee (60%) for the right knee, bi-lateral hips, and adding dependents. The VA has had all of the requested paperwork since May 2011. The only thing that was missing were the exam results. All the other paperwork was sent in 2010 including employers letter etc. On 01 June 2011 it went to the decision phase, but went back to development on 01 September 2011 because some information was needed. This I did ask about but was told they would contact me if they needed anything. I called the DAV in Pittsburgh, but they said the VA has everything they need. It is possible to contact the DAV in Pittsburgh, but they have not been very helpful so I have not checked on it too often. Plus it does not matter to them what kind of membership you have I also have a lifetime membership, but was told in an email it does not mean anything and I should be proud to be a member

It will get done when it gets done and no matter what anybody says it all depends on the claim. The last time (2009) it took 5 months, but the times before it took up to 2 years before a decision was made. It can be frustrating, but that is how the system has worked for years so just plan on waiting for a while.

@CW8307, You can get an ebenefits account without having to do in-person. I signed-up over the phone about two months ago. They asked for two types of ID and some other questions and I was done in 10 minutes. 20 minutes later the account was open.
