Posts: 421 Apr 6 11 11:03 AM	Tags : None Got a call from my DAV rep at Winston Salem this morning letting me know my package went to the rating board earlier this week. As a side note, nothing has been updated on eBenefits to reflect that.... Background: - Filed my package via the BDD program on 10 Aug 2010 (used DAV) - Started my first of six C&P appts on 23 Oct 2010 - Retired on 1 Nov 2010 (US Army 1981-1985, USAF 1986-2010, 30 years!) - Completed my last C&P appt on 9 Dec 2010 - Record changed to "Decision Stage" in eBenefits on 20 Dec 2010 - Record at the Rating Board on 4 April 2011 (no update on eBenefits yet) Will post an update and make a very generous contribution to this site... hopefully soon!

Posts: 421 Apr 6 11 6:22 PM	Didn't ask that specific question, but he did tell me it was being rated as we speak. I think I might have interpreted that as being at the 'rating board'. Told me I should hear something "soon". I took this all as very good news, so we'll see how the timeline now unfolds...

Posts: 160 Apr 6 11 9:49 PM	AFChief, My claim was at Winston-Salem as well. I went to "Decision Phase" before my official retirement date. BDD process did exactly what it was designed to do in my case. The claim was actually "in the bucket" 1 Feb 2011 and was rated 51 days later. BDD claims are only in the hopper once the retirement date hits. That's when the time clock actually starts (for the VA). For those with tons of terminal leave, it's an eternity. Yours sounds like a "quick claim" that didn't get done 60 days out from retirement so all bets are off as to which set of rules apply in your case. If I was a betting man, I'd guess that you're in the same hopper as the folks already retired that file a claim. Most of those folks have waited over 9 months to get a rating. It sure isn't right but that's what I've been reading. I hope you get the "notification" phase tomorrow!!! V/R, Steve.

Personally, my claim went from rater to notification in a few days. I learned of my decision on a Friday & it was posted on EBen on Saturday. Not to throw cold water on you, just remember - the claim can move backward too. I'm sure we both hope NOT! Good luck & good health! - Gdee

I'm in the DES pilot program and still on active duty. Ebenifits showed that my file made it from the PEB to Seattle for rating as it was moved into "decision stage" on 31mar2011. I sure do hope that I get some good news back soon!!!

Posts: 368 Apr 7 11 12:17 PM	Last year I filed a claim of mine and it was in rating for 6 weeks, then it went to notification. It was in notification for 10 days before I had check in the bank. So it shouldn't be too much longer if everything stays on course. Good luck, you're probably getting close. 03grunt 80% SC

Started bdd beginning of november, last c&p in January, official ets 11feb. Keep seeing all these"my file went to decision on my ets date" posts.
