Posts: 398 Feb 14 11 9:02 AM	If you served in Thailand and think you were exposed to Agent Orange or any other herbicide regardless of personal opinions from some people on this forum go ahead and file your claim. This is your claim and not theirs. The DVA will sort things out for itself and decide if you deserve to be compensated. The people on this forum and their opinions on your claim are not the raters opinions. Each claim is unique just as the person that files it. I encourage Veterans and do not spend my time telling them that you are a loser and are just wasting everyones time. Ya can find the answer to anything. An old judge told me and some friends in junior high, "ignorance is no excuse", I have never forgotten those words. He was a wise old judge and I have always tried to find the answer I need to any question or problem. Enjoy life!!

You can win a herbicide claim if you can show you worked on or near the perimeter. These are direct claims for herbicide exposure. It was ,then it was like pulling teeth to get a answer. bobells never mention AO or stated presumptive,everyone else did.bobells figured it out for himself and is filling a NOD.The veteran asks a question and gets a runaround about AO which he never asked about,it was almost like they didn't even read his post once he said herbicide.

I did not mention any names at all. I just said to file your claim if you have one. Thanks to the Thailand Vets for your service. Posts: 214 Feb 14 11 11:17 AM	I see nothing much has changed on this forum. 7th, you see it as the slam and misrepresentation that it is. There have been numerous posts by Thailand Vets that some on this forum completely distort. Very few claim "Agent Orange" exposure. The majority just state" Herbicide" exposure. Agent Orange has been the catch all phrase for the 'Rainbow Herbicides' for years. If someone mistakenly says Agent Orange, they are then slammed, ridiculed, and demeaned, for even thinking they have the same rights as other Veterans. Don't clog the system, how dare you take resources away from more deserving Vets, your just trying to scam money out of the Gov. What a load of crap. They all say they're tired of re-visiting the issue, well to bad. There are still VN Vets who don't know to file for what is rightfully theirs. There are new Thailand Vets, every day, that are learning of the potential harm that may have been done to them. What I find really unfortunate is the lack of support, from other than a few Vets on this forum, to stand up to the obvious bully's on this forum. Granted, they have obviously helped many Vets on this forum, but the bias directed at Thailand Vets is glaring. Just like in most professions, there comes a time when it just would be better to retire. There is no way to know the harm some of these attitudes might have caused Vets looking for answers, because we'll never see them again on this forum, and that's just sad. Now I know this post is going to be dissected line by line and refuted. That's OK, I'm used to it. Everyone needs to look in the mirror and decide how they want this forum to continue. Should we help all Vets, or should we just let the few decide who is deserving?

Posts: 169 Feb 14 11 11:32 AM	he guys...I am still here and not going anywhere..this forum has helped me in so many ways...both the nay sayers and those who are a little more openminded...and I am not giving up ever because I know where I was on the bases I worked at and so does the Army..so I believe this will all work it self out...I am just going over everything in the decision to make sure I have all the info that is necessary lto win my case...I have visited every site online and got a lot of info on how to proceed..so I will keep you guys updated on what i happening and also stick around to hlep in anyway that I can.....

A person from NAM claims exposure to "herbicides" based on the "presumptive" because they "may" have been sprayed. A vet from Korea, Thailand, where-ever, files a claim because they "may" have been exposed due to work or living conditions. What is the differance, both claim to have been exposed. Both have the right to file a claim. We should be supporting "who-ever" and leave personal views out. If you dis-agree with the claimant, then do not post.

I really don't know what the powers that be are afraid of from the Thai Vets, but there sure is an overabundance of the Thai threads being closed awfully early. I wonder how many Thai Vets are afraid to respond or have left the forum altogether due to the way they are addressed.

I do not think they are closing down threads because of view points, maybe I am wrong. I think they closed them down because they were getting to be too much and just "bickering" between a few posters. This particular group is Agent Orange, but the way I see it. and it appears others agree, Agent Orange is just a "loose" term for the exposure to "HERBICIDES". Under public law (yes "short title Agent Orange Act) here is a cut and paste of what it actually "in part" says.... PRESUMPTION OF SERVICE CONNECTION FOR DISEASES ASSOCIATED WITH EXPOSURE TO CERTAIN HERBICIDE AGENTS. (a) IN GENERAL. - (1) Chapter II of title 88, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end of subchapter II the following new section: " 316. Presumptions of service connection for disease associated with exposure to certain herbicide agents. Again this is ONLY for presumptives, but even on Direct exposure, the VA goes for exposure to certain herbicide agents, NOT just Agent Orange. Just my opinion.

This thread is not about claim merits or anything else. It is just to tell them to file at their own discretion. Some folks just can't seem to stay out of it.
