just looking for some guess's...claim is for IHD filed Aug 10 2010 and it is pretty simple claim... oh yea it is at Philadelphia

THEY say any where from 16 to 28 days in the decision phase. but i am past that timeline. no way to really know.

I was in the same position and wondering the same thing...."How long in the DECISION PHASE?" .....until YESTERDAY.
My claim was in the DECISION PHASE since DEC 1st, 2010 with the Winston-Salem VA office for the following conditions (Sleep Apnea, Back Condition, Knee Condition, Bilateral Tinnitus w/hearing loss, L Shoulder Condition, Hernia Repair Residuals, L Foot Neuroma).

Check the website (ebenefits.va.org) and my claim showed "CLOSED"......called VA this morning and my rating has been mailed and I should find out my rating by the end of the week and receive a retro-grade back pay within 14 days.

TIME-Line: Navy, Filed in Norfolk, VA thru the Benefits Delivery at Discharge Program, Sep 10th, 2010, Last QTC exam Oct 5th, 2010, Retired Nov 30th, 2010, Claim went to DECISION Phase Dec 1st, 2010, Claim closed Feb 4th, 2010, VA mailed rating Feb 7th, 2010.

I have heard horror stories of claims taking up to 130 days thru the BDD program so I was quite suprised to find out I was rated 70 days after retiring!!!!!!

Mine has been in Decision phase since 1 Nov 2010. Filed through BDD. File is at Salt Lake facility. The 30-60 day window doesn't seem to be accurate. Can only wait now. I've done all I can do on my end. Now havta play the waiting game.

You went through BDD? Did you have any type of PTSD claims other severe issues that aren't common?

this what happen i file in 2003 to 2005 got denied my came on 2006 didn't care maybe i'll be ok but NO I'm ANGRY MAD but just got help so i turn in another claim for ptsd in 2008 got denied only because i didnt do what i had to do to get treatment so now I;m WAIing

I think you have to factor in when the C&P was done. And add 4-6 weeks for that to filter into the system.
Filing date is not much help.

I would suggest that anyone with a pending claim in adjudication seek out a Veteran Service Officer(VSO) (your preference) and work together to have your claim expedited in a timely manner. That VSO have access to the rater and your claim from start to finish.

When I filed for my back injury and PTSD I filed my claim in March of 2009 and my C&P exams was Aug 2009 and I was awarded 60% disabiilty Sept 2009...The VA was able to find my medical record and was able to find evidence in my medical record to match up with my claim along with all the paperwork I sent in to back up my claim..so I think it all depends on if the VA can get there hands on your medical record right away and what kind of evidence is set in front of them...

imagine a BIG wall in front of you...It has numbers all over it. Now pick up a dart and throw it at the board. Your odds of a correct answer here or anywhere is about the same as the dart board scenario. Sorry, but I have an appeal that is 4 years old. Some have appeals and claims in longer and some less time. it's a crap shoot.

I have been going on my intial claim for 16 months now. Gotten the run around multiple times. Finally sent them ANOTHER copy of EVERYTHING and the said they got my old stuff out of storage. Nice to know that no one has been working on it. They received all my medical records again on Jan 25 and im still waiting for them to do something with it. I am claiming 9 different things though. Cant wait for the Back pay though.

I have an instability claim still floating through the system that is exactly 32 months old. The v.a. Had me go to two c&p appointments in November 2010, December 2010, and January 2011. The December appointment was related to my 2 year+ claim. It can take a long while or a couple of months.

Left knee grade 4 arthritis -30%
Right knee Chondromalacia patella -10%
Left knee instability -10%
Narcissistic Personality Disorder. -30%
Tinnitus - 10%
Bilateral pes planus -10%

Common etiology lower extremities.
-------------------------70%
100% IU/ permanent & total pending appeal
