Does anyone here have any experience with chemotherapy for CLL? I've had the condition for a number of years, but it has not been serious enough to justify chemotherapy until now. My doctor suggested a 3 chemical cocktail - cytoxan, ritoxan, floudarubine (SP?). I read up on the 3 and the ritoxan and floudarubine appear to be much more toxic and have risks that cytoxan doesn't have such as possible kidney and/or liver damage. My understanding is the 3 chemical cocktail has the potential of having better results than cytoxan alone. Has anyone had any of these therapies that can share their personal experience as to the health benefits or detriments of any of these treatments either alone or together? I just had my first chemo treatment with cytoxan alone and am wondering whether I should request the more aggressive treatment and I'm trying to gather as much info as possible to make an informed decision. But the last thing I want is to end up in worse shape after the chemo such as with kidney problems which require dialisis for the rest of my life. Am I being overyly concerned? Any info anyone can provide would be appreciated, particularly on their personal experience with any or all of the 3 treatments.
