Just wondering if anyone fixes old lawn mowers for a hobbie.
I started to collect old lawn mowers from the dump recycling center and started to peice them together to get them working.
Turn around and sell them for like $25-$50
Seems like alot people will trash them because the price to fix them nowadays you are better off to buy a new one from walmart for $150.
My Vocational rehab person wanted me to start fixing old lawn mowers as a business since alot of small engines go bad due to the ethenol in the gas today.
The thing about that was that most everyone with a bad small engine have decided to buy a new lawn mower or weed eater because of the price of fixing the old.
To me, fixing small engines is fine as a hobbie if you can get the engines for free, fix them up and sell or give it to someone who needs it.
Just fixing the engines for your neighbors is fine also if the parts dont cost 1/2 or more the price of having a new engine.
I do not see anone making a living on small engine repairs unless you have your own store and sell new engines and other supplies.
