Based on it, I was awarded Service Connection at 20% for Lumbar Spine Strain.
Does the Range of Motion, as shown by my examination, represent the proper percentage?
Of concern is the "Flexion". I managed to flex forward to 40 degrees, but was in pain as shown by the doctor's note: "Pain begins at 10 degrees and ends at 40 degrees".
Can someone who is more familiar with spine issues comment? Is the fact that I managed to flex all the way to 40 degrees, even though the pain began at 10 degrees, the proper way for the VARO to apply the rating code for Lumbar Spine?
Maybe this is just the way they do it and if so; I'll count myself fortunate with getting the 20%, but I would like to ask for an opinion from others, on the forum, who have spine disabilities as well.
