Posts: 1465 Nov 25 09 12:53 PM	I called bva to check on the status of my Appeal and the lady at the Phone tell me that is waiting for the judge to call the case.Does this mean that is was review and is waiting on the judge to make a decision.Can I be right

Survivir Oh, my mistake! The BVA only receives about 40,000 appeals each year with about 70 Veteran Law Judges to sift through them all! Then you have veterans calling every two weeks to "find out the status" of their appeal, which in turn ties up their limited resources! Posts: 6639 Nov 26 09 8:40 AM	Actually the BVA just added 4 new judges and they now have staggered the retire times for the ones retiring so it gives them time to fill a spot as they occur. From their web site each judge hears around 10 cases a day. I assume that means interviews and travel boards and decisions are in there somewhere. What we really need is better overview at the RO so as many claims as possible are awarded correctly and yes we the veteran need to supply the RO enough evidence to give them the right to award. By the way I again would assume they have staff to answer the phone. Besides why else would they publish the phone number and tell a vet to call??

Then there are a lot of VSO and VARO people who are "NOT" doing their job..."correctly"...or there would not be THAT MANY Claims going to the BVA. Also, I just do not remember ever seeing...anyone with an ANCHOR tied to their ass...or Chained to their Desk. Which simply means...if you can't or don't want to DO the job that you were hired to do...then resign and leave. There is a reason that the term "Government Work" exists. There are a lot of Hard-Working Government Employees...and then there are the no-good-worthless Government Employees that do very little to earn their paycheck. The Hard-Working Government Employees KNOWS what I am talking about...and WHO I am talking about. There is ALWAYS a better and faster way to do a job. But, as I have said many times...people want JOB SECURITY...and therefore they are NOT willing, or wanting to work themselves OUT of their job. Just take a look at the VA's ILP Program. There are NO consistancies there, either. There are some VA Employees who have worked at the VA for 25 PLUS YEARS...that do NOT know what the ILP is all about. Why? That lack of Job Knowledge would NOT be tolerated in the Private Job Market. Now back to your numbers. If what you-say is so...then the 40, 000 claims that go to 70 Judges each year...comes down to about 11 Claims a WEEK for EACH Judge...figuring that on a 50 WEEKS a Year. That is about 3 Claims a DAY...for EACH of the 70 Judges. It doesn't matter how many times a Veteran calls the BVA...because the BVA has a staff to answer the phones...and those staff employees should be happy that Veterans are calling...otherwise some of those staff employees would loose their jobs. -----> Actually, I think there are probably MORE-THAN 40,000 Claims that go to the BVA Each Year.<----- Survivir

Posts: 6639 Nov 28 09 9:55 AM	My point exactly a little more of a attention to all to do their jobs and the vet to supply as soon as possible will help everybody out. As I mentioned before if the VA had to automatically approve a claim and give the veteran comp until THEY can proof otherwise. I bet they would damn sure speed it up then! Ruiz, Did not mean to hijack your thread but I feel all this goes hand in hand. Reminds me of a old saying in my line of business "you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear"!

Posts: 1465 Nov 28 09 11:13 AM	That's why my appeal is base on an EED back to 97.hopefully after I submit form 9,almost 20 months ago I don't recieved another remand.Then another 2 years that would 14 years fighting this burocracy

But even I know...that if he posts the docket number...the rest of us are going to KNOW who that Citation is about. I am just asking...because like so many other things that I do NOT KNOW...would the current document number include any other Remands within it? How about... Might help others so they don't make the same either mistakes or get treated the same way. I read the BVA decisions all the time especially those that pertain to my issues.
