At first glance it appeared to be serious, because the intended levity was not in the 'Social' section. And it seemed to be not in the confines of the
VBN 's posting protocol.

It is in the Social forum. Really? Jr. Mod 5th Class? And anyone here thinks Mary wouldn't have ripped me a new one in the open?
Some of you guys don't know her evil side. I can't even repeat some of the threats she has sent me. Evil Genius is just the tip of the iceberg on that one. Plus she has been "demoted" like this several times in the past????? Sorry Mary.

Doc,
We are voting on a site known as Worldwide Topsites. By clicking on the banner at the top of the page, it connects you to that site. We do so because by voting, we keep the VBN site in the top category so it is noticeable when people enter that site. On the right are two columns: The In column is where your vote is counted at the next time-change notice (on left) The Out column is where it is noted when a person actually clicks on the site thus sending that person to that site. If you notice 378 have voted whereas 448 people have actually visited the VBN site. Seems a good tradeoff to help veterans. By staying at the top of the list, it lets people know it has value. PTSD & Friends is also a good site. I also vote for my site but as long as it is on the first page, that is good enough since it is very specialized. I also vote for FamilyOfaVet since it too is useful and the owner of that site made mine and VBN possible by setting them up in Topsites. fanaticbooks

Yes.
I have been voting right from the get go. I just make sure a little time passes between each vote so they don't get lost in the shuffle. I use this topic link http://vets.yuku.com/topic/22794 to make sure I get the 3 main ones, then also go to PTSD&Friends and vote there...all over the course of the day.
