Hi, hoping someone has some information that might help and will try to keep it short.
My background: 20 yrs active duty AF, retired with 40% service connected disability. 20% of the disability is L4-L5 herniated discs. Treatment by VA has been pain management, i.e. Motrin and occasional muscle relaxers for back. Back pain getting worse and I'm going for an MRI this Thursday to try and assess why its getting worse. The doc has discussed doing epidurals and possibly surgery if that doesnt help. I can still move reasonable well but theres a fairly constant pain ranging from dull ache to fairly sharp pain (prob 3-8 on pain scale) depending on physical activity each day. Is there a point I should consider applying for increased compensation for back pain or is compensation for back injuries only for range of motion?
I've searched the forums here and also read through 38 CFR but still am not clear on this issue. Thanks for any info.
