Posts: 191 07/09/09 17:05:28	Howdy Everybody, On Tuesday the 14th, I am going to have a partial knee replacement. It is going to be the medial section of my right knee. A normal knee joint space should look like this..... Mine looks more like this........ These are just pics from the 'Net not of my knee. I hurt/damaged my knees while I was on Active Duty and over the past 20years they just keep getting more painful. I had my right knee scoped in Oct '07 and they removed about half of my medial mensicus. This increased the load on the remaining part of my medial mensicus which is now shot. So, on Tuesday, I'm going under the knife and having it replaced. Wish me a little luck, and the doctor too! Paul

Posts: 29 07/10/09 13:04:19	I have the x-rays of my left knee on a disk,I wish it had as much medial space as the one shown as bad. I am going for C&P on july 14th, have a claim in, it is service connected, will be doing the total knee replacement. I waited too long, now my right hip is also bone on bone.

I am trying to download a copy of the partial so you can see that. 1SGRetired, I thought about that getting tattooed on my leg, OUCH! But I have 2 large scars so I thought maybe 1 OUCH!, and the other Son Of A BEACH!

Posts: 198 07/12/09 13:33:57	Howdy Everybody, I hope this will allow me to be more active. My problem is not so much the pain, I'm tough so the pain is no big deal, but the stiffness. My knee gets so stiff that it will not move. I go to the VAMC with my knee basically locked up and they tell me that I have good range of motion. What a freakin' joke. Anyway, I like to shoot in competition , mainly pistols, and I hope to be able to get around enough to go back to shooting in competition again. I hate being so slow on my feet that I cannot get a decent time. Plus, in the last couple of years, strickly because of my limited mobility, my weight has gone up. Hope I will be able to be more active which will help to take and keep the weight off. Wish me luck on Tuesday. Paul
