PTSD C & P exam felt rushed

Posts: 4 May 19 09 6:37 PM	Tags : ptsd I had a C & P exam yesterday for PTSD and it didn't go too well. I knew it was going to be bad from the start when the doc didn't even really greet me to ask how I was doing. She just got straight to business. I felt rushed the whole process and it seemed like she was in a hurry to get me out. She barely asked any questions, resulting in me having to rack my brain for things relevant. Is this normal? If I feel I got the shaft on this exam should I ask for another C & P exam for PTSD or should I wait to see what the rating decision is and then file a NOD if I'm not happy with the result? Thanks

Posts: 11847 May 19 09 7:17 PM Does not play well With others.	marley, Sorry for your bad experience. Was this your first PTSD or Psych C&P exam or was this for an increase in a previous rating? Was this done at the VA? If it was done at the VA go to the release of information office and tell them you want a copy of the exam report when its available. It will probably be a couple of weeks.

Posts: 11847 May 19 09 7:54 PM Does not play well With others.	Ok. All you can do at this point is get a copy of the report and then wait for the results. You do NOT want to just wait for the results of the claim without having the report. Doing so will prevent you from knowing why the rating was given. On the other hand, do NOT drive yourself nuts trying to track your claim through the 800# or your VSO like was a package shipped through UPS. The claim will be done when it is done. Best to find a hobby.

Posts: 24 May 19 09 8:06 PM	When I had my exam I felt the same way.I was not happy the way my exam went.But to my surprise my rating went from70% to 100% P&T. Its hard to figure what a Doctor is thinking.It really will be known only when you get the results.Good luck to you,monitor the Board and Wait.......
