Sounds like a good plan. I don't know if the 800# will give you any information as far as has the form been sent to you, but you can download it and send
it certified mail. Good luck

Download it, fill it out correctly and send it in. Read the form carefully before taking pen to paper. When you send it in, send it return receipt and do so
before the end of the month. If you've moved since you got your IU, make sure the VARO has your correct address.
I nearly lost my IU last year because of a late form due to a move. I've been IU since Jan 07 and haven't received the employment form as of yet and have not sent one in. JMO |

peoplesniffer, I was under the impression that you get 1 every year. I was also under the impression that each one get's verified. IDK, i'm curious
as to why you haven't recieved one or even the second one for that matter. Someone smarter than me will give you some good advice. Good luck.

Cb1984,
I'm curious myself. But in all actuality if I wasn't on this website I wouldn't have a clue they even sent this form out. I think cruiser said they could send you a request to reduce your rating but give you ample time to respond before they do that, Also there are other vets on here that haven't received the form either. |

Yeah, I remeber reading that at some point on here, at some point in time. Good to know, if I don't get one by chance, I won't stress out or make any
calls. Just wait. Thanks for the info.

Humm I have come across two comments concerning age limits both appear to look official, but only one can be of course: one comment related that the age limit was 60 and another related that the age limit was 69. If older than the cut off you would not get a VA Form 21-4140-1. I don't know which one is correct so if you know post it, if not I will see what I can find out Monday.

Chips Rock2 wrote:According to the excellent post in the OP by KPV4CC here that covers VA Training Letter 07-01, if you are 70 or older you will not get the form so your last form should be sent while you are 69.

All post on this topic give sound advice. People sniffer hit it on the head in my opinion. Even if, due to their error or yours, they have a flag go up on
you because of a lack of a response they will give you time to have it corrected. I don't think they will just take your benefits without a percieved
valid reason.

I always down load one the mo. before ( Now I have 10 copys on hand). And mail it to the VARO.
I remember your Mother (VA) does not live here. I have a VA friend that didn't send one in for seven years. Well one day. The VA sent Him a Love letter. Took him back to 70%. It took Him 3 mo. (+C&P's) to take care of that crap and back to IU. No one to blame but himself. Every year one mo. before my date the VA gets a Love letter from me. The 21-4140. LLFLY |

I agree with all the above in sending your form certified. Also send one to your VSO and have them file it in your record. If something comes along to bite
you later, your VSO can present a copy to the VA which should settle the issue then.

Well today (04/15/2009) I got the form in the mail from the VA, I signed it and got it right back in the mail certified of course. I am glad I got it in the
mail, but I do have a copy or two just in case I ever need one, Thanks to All.
