I have accessed these posting several times and would like to thank everyone who has contributed for their input.
I have been approved for voc rehab after meeting with my counselor. I recently was not accepted into the program for which I had applied. I have decided to make a career change and have enrolled in flight school. I know that the VA will pay for flight school under the GI Bill if you complete the private pilot course on your own. I told the rehab counselor I wanted to attend flight training and she said they would not pay for it.
I have searched high and low for any information to support the request or definitively deny a flight training program.
I plan on paying for the private license myself and reapproaching the counselor with the certification and subsequent costs of schooling for a career in aviation.
If anyone has any ideas or recommendations on this idea, they would be greatly appreciated. I want to have as much weight on my side when I reapproach my counselor.
