I've had difficulty working full-time for many years due to the physical pain associated with my knees and lower back. And the depression has exacerbated my difficulties in steady employment.
Recently the depression got so bad I asked for help at the VA and was diagnosed with a mood disorder due to general medical conditions - chronic pain as the condition and depression as the mood problem. Of course, I couldn't think of any questions to ask until I got home, but the psychologist said she didn't think I was ready to work full time - just yet. I'm not exactly sure what she means by that, but I'm scheduled for group therapy - the pain group - and for cognitive behavior therapy.
From what little I've read on the Internet this doesn't sound good and now I'm concerned that the VA could use this against me somehow, like discontinuing the rating on my knee. Can someone please tell me what all of this really means in English? Thanks!
