Mack That this formula is so weird, no one knows how to figure it out except some guy at with a slide rule and secret formula at the CRSC. The way they figure this is so confusing especially if you retired more than a few years ago..

Also, if your PEB stated your 30% rating was due to a combat related condition, your entire DoD disability amount should be tax free. Mike No, I don't need the COLA's because your current DoD retirement already captures past COLA's. Your COLA inflated retirement base is $2,893.33. 30% of this amount is $898, your current DoD disability retirement. 1. Total amount of DoD disability retirement = $868 (30% of retirement base) 2. Minus DoD LOS retirement amount = $566.61 (19.5833% of retirement base) 3. Equals DoD "Disability Pay" $301.39 4. Amount of VA compensation due for combat related disabilities $450 5. Minus DoD "Disability Pay" (line 3) $301.39 6. Equals Maximum CRSC amount $148.61 CRSC due is smaller amount from line 2 and line 6. CRSC = $148.61 a month Note: The intent of concurrent receipt programs is for you to receive all of your VA and your LOS retirement amount. That amount is $450 VA + $566.61 LOS retirement equals $1016.61 a month total compensation. Your current DOD disability retirement is $868 + $148.61 CRSC = $1016.61 a month. Posts: 5 Sep 16 08 1:49 PM	I have been reading these post for a while and am a little confused: I receive 70% from VA @$1430.00 I am rated 50% Combat Related My whole retirement of $1348.00 is waived. DoD Retirement is 30% get paid @ 50% due to TDRL My LOS was 13yrs 1month as of April 2005. Being that my whole retirement is offset do I receive anything? Posts: 416 Sep 16 08 5:06 PM	Wow ! I am really cofused , I see on these calc. the formula keeps showing DOD disability. My question is Reserve retired , E7 Active duty about 6 and 2/3 years . I will file next year for retiement (60 year mark) Army calculates $859.00 Approx. (Jan 2007 scale). My question is i dont have a dod disability . I am 70 % rated and due to IU I am 100%. Does only Active time count only in Calc .Crsc?( Infantry Vietnam) Of cause the paper work cant go in unto i am 60 for crsc, but lets assume the 70% is all combat related and approved and I was submitting today what would the crsc be vs. the other crdp.Thanks in advance if you can assist with the way its calc. Also on reading CRDP I read this blurp( It is also important to note that the amount you receive cannot exceed the sum of your actual military retirement pay and VA Disability Compensation added together) Does that mean I will waste my time filing for Army pay Va $2669 Army $859.00 Edited 1 time by rockygb Sep 16 08 5:19 PM.

Posts: 155 Sep 20 08 4:12 PM	Rocky, I had the same problem of my crsc being figured with only my active duty time. Almost the same amount of time. I called CRSC, and spoke with someone in the know and was told that TOTAL time counts, including reserve time. So my length of Service went from 6 years and some change to over 17. I hope this helps. Posts: 10 Sep 29 08 11:52 AM	All, just wanted to let you know how my timeline worked out; in case anyone else was wondering what/when to expect: June 25, 2008: Applied for CRSC through Army Aug. 13, 2008: Received letter that CRSC was approved 100% Combat, Purple Heart Sep. 22, 2008: DFAS worked all of their magic and a statement appeared in my MyPay (CRSC Statement) Oct. 1, 2008: Will receive first payment; still no word on retro (to Jan.08) but I expect it will take at least 60 days. I am a 100% VA (Ch.61 with 90% rated disability) E-5 with 12 years in service (all Active), retired 5/2007. CRSC payment will be $762.00/month. I cant speak for all of the branches, but it seems that the Army and DFAS are rolling at a pretty good clip to get these all done.

Posts: 10 Oct 28 08 3:34 PM	I found out my payment from DFAS was approved yesterday! and the retro is in review but the person said it would probably hit in December. !!!! I think this was about 30 days from when I sent my stuff in to getting a reply and getting DFAS to approve an amount. I guess about 75 to 90 days till payment?
