I'm CONFUSED nothing New! I called GWS 1-800 number this AM spoke with a woman who explained the process as such:
After I retire the raters will review my medical records along with my VA C/P exams and then with that finding decide if I meet any of the criteria for compensation related to the GW.
This is what I don't understand: I retire Jan09, I have had my C/P exams completed and my paperwork submissions were sent to the VA 18Jul08. WHY would I have to wait/prolong GW ratings until I retire.
I understand no final rating can take place until after I turn my DD214 in. But again, would it not be COMMON sense to take of GW appointments Prior to separating from active service. Is the system ass backwards or what step am I missing?
Thanks Chuck
