Rookie VBNer Posts: 2 Jun 24 08 4:22 AM	I have a question. I can't find it in any regulations, policy letters, or forums. Can the unit require me to take the APFT while pending MEB/PEB? I have a (new)P3, but I am still in the recovery period for the temporary profile for the same injury, and I no longer do pushups. I have another temporary profile for my back injuries, that only worsened while I was pending MMRB, and I had to serve as Range Cadre for 10 day grenade range. I have already told the unit that I will not do that agian. (My temporary profile covers me anyway.) But I am scheduled for the APFT tomorrow, because its been 17 months since the last one, and my temporary profile prohibits me from wearing my gear, not performing the Situp or the 2.5 mile walk. I could pass it, I'm sure, but I want to educate my command so that they stop screwing the Joes over. SSG (E6) Army Pending MEB/PEB

Posts: 414 Jun 24 08 9:30 PM	Wolfton, I think you hit it on the head. Per FM 21-20. "A soldier with a temporary profile must take the regular three-event APFT after the profile has expired. (Soldiers with temporary profiles of more than three months may take an alternate test as determined by the commander with input from health-care personnel. ) Once the profile is lifted, the soldier must be given twice the time of the profile (but not more than 90 days) to train for the APFT. For example, if the profile period was 7 days, the soldier has 14 days to train for the APFT after the profile period ends. If a normally scheduled APFT occurs during the profile period, the soldier should be given a mandatory make-up date." There is no prohibition on taking an APFT while undergoing an MEB per se.
