Hliterate! this is my very first post so im not sure if its in the right place. Im hoping someone can shed some light on this incompetence thing for me. Some of my history: 50% service connected for mental health issues dated back to August 2012. Recently, on march 10 2017, I was awarded an increase to 100%. The claim was very fast and remotely stress free. About 6months start to finish c&p exam was handled through VES. All of my excitmemt was destroyed today when my representative informed was I was rated as incompetent to handle my finances so my retro was being withheld. This is some scary stuff the more i dig into it. Having to pay someone to handle my finances and get purchases approved.. Ect. Maybe its just my anxiety but im also a mother to three children under 6. If im "incompetent" could that effect custody? Im not sure how I got this rating.. when asked about my finances I told the examiner that I have a hard time with my memory and procrastination so all of my bills are on auto pay. Being a mother with an active duty spouse I have enough on my plate so setting up auto pay makes my life easier. Im most certainly not incompetent though! Has anyone ever had this happen and won the appeal? Im freaking out my husband deploys next month and im worried about the outcome of this. I have plenty of veteran friends at 100% that haven't even heard of that. Im completely literate with a degree, graduating honors and 4.0. I just have severe anxiety, depression and Ocd, but im not stupid I can comprehend that bills have to be made. Thank you for any help!
