Husband is 50% SLeep Apnea, 30% ptsd, 10% Ibs. He has letter from the Dept. of Defence stating he was exposed for 3 days in the Khamisiyah area. The second letter he received from them, in 2001, was that based on the current medical evidence & ongoing research there is no indication that any long term health effects would be expected from the brief low level exposure to chemical agents that may have occurred near Khamisiyah . We also have prognosis notes from a va physician in 2009 stating his problems were migrane memory loss, insomnia, Ibs, ptsd, hypertension & Exposure To Nerve Agent.... These are issues that continue to get worse... 1. A Ibs increase, he is at 10% since 2004, his Ibs is worse, he was denied an increase in 2010 2. Hypertension, he was in the National Gaurd after his tour, he has in his military records there showing high bp and has had the issue ever since. He has been on meds for a very long time. He was denied in 2013 on hypertension . 3. Migrane/ headache, a long history documented and on meds from the VA for a long time, denied in 2013 , headaches continue to get worse and cause him to leave early from work along with the Ibs and joint pain. 4. Hearing Loss, he was a driver of a Bradley, on exit exam doctor states hearing Loss due to high noise environment. The c&p exam states- it is evident that a standard threshold shift occurred in his left ear while serving in the military. It was denied in 2010 because the evidence does not show the criteria for a grant of service connection for defective hearing by V A standards. This is my concern with migrane/ headaches, joint pain.. the denial before was that they are related to a recognized condition, the veteran has been dx with migrane headaches an is on treatment, veterans fatigued insomnia and muscle cramps are related to his sleep apnea and ptsd. It is less likely as not that any of his conditions were caused by exposure to Chemicals during his tour of duty in Southwest Asia. . There are other conditions my husband deals with respiratory issues, blood clotting, and small granulomas in his lung, unsure why they are there and He has a long list of other medical problems and he is only 45. The hearing Loss and Ibs increase are what he feels we should try once again for. Can I get your thoughts please ! And thanks !
